On Friday last week in DC, we had workshops, a service project, a presentation by a physician about Clara Barton, and viewed the magnificent, interesting desk and bookcase in our museum. What a great acquisition for us. There is a complete explanation with a video you can access from the DAR Museum Facebook page.
What a treat it was to eat our lunch off of our exquisite 125th Anniversary China. The rim is an elegant blue and gold design and in the center is a golden eagle design. It makes a gorgeous table setting.
We left DAR Headquarters and rode buses to the Clara Barton house to tour that interesting building. It was the first American Red Cross building. What a life she led and what an impact she made. She strongly supported women’s rights and was way ahead of her time in many ways. After touring Clara’s house, we had a delicious dinner at the Irish Pub nearby to end a busy day.
