November 14-17 was our productive Board Meeting at VPG Elizabeth Graham’s house in Asheville, then Juniors and Pages arrived for their annual retreat. Many thanks to Elizabeth for allowing us to use her house and her rental house for the weekend. The board had a relaxing dinner Thursday evening, then began work early Friday morning. Elizabeth not only treated us to lunch but she even ran to Panera Bread to pick up and deliver the lunches to us. She also stocked the rental house with lots of Coke! We appreciate her hospitality and generosity so much. We even got in a little bear hunting that afternoon!
Our young ladies left early Saturday morning for the Veterans for their service project, then returned for lunch and an afternoon shared with Louise Chamberlain. Louise gave an informative and encouraging workshop on the Members Course and inspired these young women to begin the program. Thank you, Louise. In keeping with the health theme for Women’s Issues, these brave young women took a long walk in the cold through the mountain neighborhood and enjoyed each other’s company. Lots of hills, no bears. We thank all the Daughters who attended the Board meeting and the retreat for their service and commitment to our Society.
