On Saturday, December 8, despite the rain and cold I attended my chapter’s Tea. Regent Jo Stroud prepared fun activities for us and we enjoyed visiting with each other. I finally had the chance to visit, however briefly, with my childhood friend Suzanne. I have missed our annual birthday lunches the past couple of years. The day was made extra special with the presence of Merry Ann Wright and my mother. This is the best part of holiday gatherings!
The following Tuesday, I drove to Wilson to join Adele VanOverbeke and the Thomas Hadley members for their Holiday Tea. Mamie Boyette hosted the lovely affair in her beautifully decorated home. I enjoy visiting our members’ homes because you see a personal side of the owner that allows you to get to know them quickly. Our members are collectors, hobbyists, readers, antique lovers, and caretakers of family treasures. It was so nice to see Anna Harmon and Pet Pruden whom I haven’t seen in a long time. Thomas Hadley members are joining the conservation committee project Million Pollinator Garden challenge. If you garden and have flowers, you can name your garden and join this conservation project. Now, while we have a brief break from gardening is a good time to register your garden.
